2018-19 ASP BOARD
Hello everyone, my name is Chris and it is an absolute honor to serve as ASP’s President. I am a third year student majoring in CRP and minoring in Geography. I transferred to Cal Poly in Fall 2017 from Santa Ana College. Growing up, I’ve always had an interest in cities and the built environment around me. I was constantly intrigued how cities were established and how they grew to be what they are today. I wish to carry forward ASP’s continuous efforts in promoting professionalism, inclusivity, and diversity in our student body. I am from Garden Grove and I enjoy going to Disneyland, taking my dog to the beach, and spending time with family and my girlfriend. I grew up in a haunted house and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Feel free to say hello if you see me anywhere on campus!
Hello there! I am Nick Johnston, a third year City & Regional Planning Major pursuing minors in Construction Management, Real Property Development, and Sustainable Environments. Professionally, I am most interested in international development planning, housing, and the design-build realm. Outside of class I enjoy taking advantage of the awesome open space in San Luis Obispo: concurring the Nine Sisters, splashing around in the surf, and biking everywhere. I look forward to serving ASP in the capacity of Vice President this year.
Hello Everyone my name is Valeria, I go by V for short. I love sports, horses and the ocean. I am in charge of all the writing, note-taking, and sending out emails. ASP has been a place for me to get my professional career stated outside of my school focus. I have also met a lot of classmates and gotten to know them better through club social events. I am so excited for this year, I know ASP already has some great ideas! I can't wait to meet and welcome all of our new members. If you see me on campus, please come say hi.
Hello! My name is Clarissa. I am a 3rd year in the CRP program, also minoring in Spanish. I am from the Central Valley in California. My favorite things to do are watch movies and take naps. I'm not sure on what I want to do with my degree yet, but I'd like to move back home or to Seattle after college.
Hi! My name is Ritu Muralidharan and I am a fourth-year City and Regional Planning major with a minor in Sustainable Environments. I joined ASP as a freshman, and since then I have made connections, learned about planning through firm tours and conferences, and made several friends. As Vice President for the 2017-18 school year, I helped plan firm tours, networking events, and conference trips. I hope to continue contributing to ASP this year as Faculty Representative. On campus, I am also involved with the CAED Ambassadors program. In my free time, I can be found at the beach.
My name is Christian Montoya and my pronouns are he/him/his. I’m a 4th-year CRP major with a minor in Ethnic Studies and am from Antioch, CA. I entered into urban planning because I want to help serve underrepresented and under-served communities plan for better futures. I believe we need to make substantial changes in our communities to reflect their needs. My planning interests are affordable housing, inclusionary zoning, active transportation, environmental justice, and gentrification. However, I also enjoy running, dancing, playing strategy games, watching Last Week Tonight, and hanging out with friends. I will be serving as your CAED Representative for ASP this year. "
